Sundays on the Boulevard
Along with Portland Trails, the City of Portland, the Bicycle Coalition of Maine and others, the BCNA has been a founding force behind this innovative program. From May through October, "our" section of Baxter Boulevard (Vannah Avenue to Payson Park) is closed to vehicular traffic from 9 am to 4 pm. Learn more here: www.boulevardsundays.com. This program has been spectacularly successful - want to be involved? Contact us!
The BCNA has been a participant in the ongoing streetscape and traffic redesign coming to this busy intersection. We are also planning to meet with Woodfords corner merchants to suggest the idea of a Business Improvement District for that area. Want to get involved? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Yardscaping Gardens at Back Cove
The BCNA was one of founding organizations that designed and built this "demonstration landscape" on the Back Cove Trail near the Hannaford parking lot. The Yardscaping garden displays plants that show you how to "... learn to make your yard a sustainable garden that minimizes reliance on fertilizers, pesticides, and water." We always need help keeping the garden weed-free and fresh. Want to help? Contact us! Learn more here: http://www.maine.gov/dacf/php/pesticides/yardscaping/demo/portland.htm.
